Computational Study of Pressure Drop Dependence on
Pleat Shape and Filter Media

It is demonstrated how the influence of pleat shape and filter media on pressure drop
can be easily studied by computer simulation, without any knowledge of
computational fluid dynamics. This is made possible by thorough interaction of the
software tools PleatDict (virtual design of pleats) and ParPac (computational fluid
dynamics). Furthermore, it is shown how the capabilities of those codes can be
extended by coupling them with the software tools GeoDict, FilterDict, and SuFiS.
