A CT-image of a porous structure consists of voxels with certain gray-values. The gray-values represent
the different materials in the structure. With GeoDict CT images can be used to calculate material properties
and to validate material models.
I show how the import of a CT-image works with the ImportModule of GeoDict. The imported structure is
processed (filtered) to suppress noise and to enhance material interfaces. In a next step the image is
rotated and cut to get a proper size and orientation. At last the image is segmented, what means that
each voxel of the image is assigned to one material according to its gray-value. The resulting GeoDict
structure is used to validate a corresponding material model.
