Mesh GeoDict Structures
MeshGeo converts material microstructures in GeoDict formats to a STL mesh. The surface triangulation can be applied to generated microstructure models or be done directly on grey value images of imported CT-scans.
MeshGeo supports the export of surface meshes for multiple materials in which the interface areas between materials are compatible, there are no intersections of surface meshes, and every point in the volume is enclosed by exactly one mesh.
Also particles, and their trajectories, as well as streamlines contained in GeoDict result files from filtration and flow simulations can be easily converted to STL meshes by MeshGeo.
MeshGeo not only generates the mesh, but also includes helpful functions to post-process the triangulations. With these features is possible to smoothen, coarsen, and save the meshes in the formats .stl, .obj, or .wrl. and to use them in workflows with other CAE software. For example, a high number of triangles can be an issue for other solvers in CAE software and coarsening with MeshGeo can reduce this number usually by up to 70% with minimal quality loss.
The created meshes can be visualized and animated in GeoDict to produce images and movie clips.
- The GeoDict Base package is needed for basic functionality.
- MeshGeo can be used to create meshes of microstructures such as nonwoven (FiberGeo), woven (WeaveGeo, foams (FoamGeo), ceramics (GrainGeo), composites, etc. generated with modules for digital material design.
- MeshGeo module can be used to create meshes of particles, trajectories, and streamlines that are the result of flow and filtration simulations with FlowDict, FilterDict, or AddiDict.
