Continue with the Visualize Flow Results step after you have done the Simulate Flow step.
Alternatively, you can click the Open Results button in the toolbar and open the CompleteFilterFlowSimulation.gdr file from the Results-M2M folder. In the Result Viewer, click on the Load Structure button to load the 3D structure model of the filter.
Before loading the results, we will change the structure visualization. Switch to 3D by clicking the button in the toolbar. In the View Controls, enable the Structure tab and select Volume as Transparency Mode.
Now, open the Color & Visibility Settings from the side bar. In this widget, uncheck the visible box for material ID 08 (the ambient space). It may also make sense to uncheck the visible boxes of material ID 06 and material ID 07, because both IDs contain the same fluid material as material ID 00. Furthermore, you may change the colors for the filter housing and support meshes, e.g., to light gray and black. Simply click on the buttons and select new colors. It is recommendable to select colors that differ from the colors you will use later for the flow visualization.
Now load the results. In the Result Viewer, select the Flow Visualization tab, and click the Load button. Then, choose to load all components (velocity and pressure) of the result field.
The result fields (velocity vector and pressure) are now loaded. You may uncheck the Volume Field tab and instead check the Streamlines tab. Under the Streamlines tab, choose Random from the Placement pull-down menu.
You can change further visualization options by expanding the Visualization side bar. For example, to reduce the number of the streamlines, open the Visualization tab from the GUI sidebar, expand Data View→Streamlines→Placement→Random Placement, and change the Count from the default 1000 to 200.
After you are done with the visualization, and before continuing this tutorial, free some RAM memory by selecting File→Discard Volume Files. This will also end the streamline visualization.
