Due to the good resolution of the individual particles and applying image filters we obtained a reliable segmentation of solid and pore material. But since the carbon black and binder phase cannot be differentiated from the active material, a neural network is needed to separate those phases. Thus, in the second part of this tutorial series GrainFind – Identify Binder (AI) is used before analyzing the microstructure’s geometry and transport properties of the cathode material.
