Math2Market GmbH was founded in 2011 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern by three members of the original GeoDict development team. Building on software development that began in 2001, the company has continuously expanded GeoDict into a comprehensive platform for materials research, development, and digital engineering.
Today, Math2Market GmbH develops and supports GeoDict from its headquarters in Kaiserslautern, Germany. In 2025, the company expanded its international presence with the establishment of Math2Market North America Inc.. Andreas Wiegmann Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Wiegmann is co-founder of Math2Market GmbH. Andreas Wiegmann holds a master’s degree in Mathematics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
Before founding Math2Market, he had 2 years of experience as Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, and 12 years experience as Deputy Head of Department in the Department "Flow and Material Simulation" at Fraunhofer ITWM. He initiated and led the development of the GeoDict software and built the team and the customer base that laid the foundations for Math2Market.
Dr. Mathias Fingerle-Straß
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Dr. Mathias Fingerle-Straß oversees the company's organization and infrastructure, also managing the company's employment growth, and the growth as a team.
He holds a diploma and a doctorate in Experimental Physics from the Technical University Kaiserslautern (RPTU), Germany. During his postdoc at the TU Darmstadt, he focused on teaching and in research in materials for renewable and sustainable energy. In December 2018, he joined Math2Market as Business Developer for battery and fuel cell applications. From 2021 to 2023, he became the head of the Consulting & Projects team and moved in September of 2023 to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
Dr. Erik Glatt
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Dr. Glatt is co-founder of Math2Market GmbH, where he is in charge of the scientific and technological aspects of product planning and development that create the GeoDict software, as well as the management of development projects and systems.
Erik Glatt holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Physics from the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. After finishing his PhD, he joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in November 2008. At ITWM Dr. Glatt worked on random 3D-material models and image-based material property computations.
