Before studying combined electrostatic effects, we first validated the purely physical/mechanical filtration performance of our simulations using data from our project partner @Institut für Umwelt & Energie, Technik & Analytik e.V. (IUTA).
The simulation of mechanical filtration depends strongly on the microstructure of the filter medium, including fiber diameter, packing density, and pore morphology. By comparing pressure drop and mechanical filtration efficiency from our FilterDict simulations with laboratory measurements, we established a reliable and validated baseline for filter performance.
