Introducing GeoDict Quantify: Professional Image Analysis for X-ray CT
Abstract
High-resolution imaging technologies such as micro-CT and FIB-SEM provide detailed information about the internal structure of materials. Turning these increasingly large and complex datasets into quantitative information, however, requires more than visualization alone. Image preprocessing, segmentation, quantitative characterization, and reporting need to form a consistent and reproducible workflow.
This presentation introduces GeoDict Quantify, a new software package dedicated to 3D image processing and quantitative image analysis. GeoDict Quantify combines established GeoDict technologies for image preprocessing and segmentation, including AI-assisted methods, with specialized tools for the quantitative characterization of complex material microstructures.
The presentation will demonstrate how 3D image data can be processed, segmented, and analyzed to quantify characteristics such as porosity and pore connectivity, fiber orientation and dimensions, grain size and morphology, local wall thickness, and geometric deviations from CAD models. It will also show how reporting, visualization, and automation tools can be integrated into the analysis workflow to improve reproducibility and facilitate the consistent evaluation of datasets.
With the launch of GeoDict Quantify at the GeoDict Innovation Conference 2026, these capabilities are brought together in a dedicated package for researchers and engineers working with 3D imaging data, providing a streamlined workflow from volumetric images to quantitative material characterization.
