Battery Breakout Session
The battery breakout session at the GeoDict Innovation Conference 2026 covers a broad range of topics shaping the development of next-generation energy storage technologies.
We start by showing how GeoDict can be used to parametrize Doyle-Fuller-Newman-models based on real electrode microstructures. From there, we take a closer look at high-resolution 3D-imaging for Li-Ion battery electrodes and how these data can support detailed microstructure characterization.
Another major focus is the creation of digital twins for solid-state batteries, including advanced techniques for reconstructing 3D microstructures from 2D image data. We will also explore electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), from interpreting experimental results to using digital EIS-experiments to better understand electrochemical behavior.
To conclude the session, we will present new battery-related features coming with GeoDict 2027.
