Simulation of Water Transport in a PEM Fuel Cell

Seminar recording

In this hands-on seminar, we show you how water transport in a PEM fuel cell can be investigated using simulation. The focus is on the development of digital models and the subsequent analysis of transport processes within the fuel cell.

In this seminar you will learn:

  • Digital modeling: Creation of a fiber-based gas diffusion layer (GDL) and a flow channel as central components of the fuel cell.
  • Simulation of water transport: Performance of spatially resolved simulations of the relative permeability in the GDL, including wetting processes.
  • Flow and diffusion: Simulation of fluid flow and diffusion in the flow channel to analyze the influence of the structure on water transport.
  • Effective visualization of results: Presentation of suitable visualization settings to display the simulation results clearly and comprehensively.

The seminar is aimed at developers, researchers, and engineers in the field of fuel cell technology who want to simulate and understand water transport in PEM fuel cells in detail.
